Ski opening season in Bansko
Every year the opening of the skiing season is attracting thousands of fans of winter sports. On December 12 for the first time on the ski-track “Alberto Tomba was carried out a competition of the super champions Legends’ Super Race, in which were conquering the undeniable giants of the world alpine skiing – Marc Ghirardelli, Pirmin Zurbrigen, Petar Popangelov, Bojan Krizay, Paul Acolla, Patrick Ortlieb, Peter Mueller and Hubert Strolz. (?) The winner in the disputed conquest became the honorable citizen of Bansko, the prodigious Marc Ghirardelli. This year the visiting grandeurs took participation in a special charity initiative in favor of the children’s ski sport, granting personal ski accessories of extremely high emotional value. The granted objects were put up to auction, at the bar “Happy end”, and the income was committed to the program for gratuitous children’s tuition “Learn skiing” of the Bulgarian Ski Federation. All special guests were placed in Kempinski Grand Arena – the only place in Bansko, where the charm of the local life style and the world class luxury join in a genuine refined atmosphere.
Bansko is already among the favorite places of the World ski federation (FIS), which delegated to the Bulgarian winter resort and to the concessionaire of the ski-zone “Julen” AS the organization of several valuable sporting events from its calendar. In 2009 a round of the world cup of FIS for the events descent and giant slalom was carried out in Bansko, and at the beginning of 2010 made their debut the participants in the European cup for slalom for men. The greatest acknowledgement, and at the time the greatest challenge is still forward – in 2011 Bansko will be a host of a round of the world cup of FIS for the events super-combination and slalom for men, which would be with no doubt one of the most spectacular sporting events, which we shall be direct eyewitnesses.
